Men’s Beauty | Men Need Skin Care, Too!

Skin care products are usually targeted at women. However, there are men who suffer from dry skin or razor burn. This article is for them, so that they learn what to do to take care of their face.

Most guys never pay attention to their face. They just shave it, wash it and dry it, and then move on with their daily activities. However, if you’re one of these guys and you want to look your best, you’d better learn a few skin-care tips that work.

According to Matthew Avram, MD, director of the Dermatology, Laser and Cosmetic Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, men need to have a daily facial skin care routine, just like women. He says smoking and sun are the worst enemies, as both are responsible for skin aging and wrinkling. Dr. Avram’s opinion is that men should use a skin moisturizer with sunblock in order to prevent such damage.

The Awesome Manly Skin Care Guide in Men’s Beauty

What skin care products to choose for men’s beauty:
– Choose soaps that contain moisturizers for both your hands and your body
– Use only facial moisturizing products with sunscreen or sunblock
– If your skin is dry, use a light moisturizing body lotion during the summer
– For the winter, switch to heavier moisturizing creams and lotions
– The more severe your skin dryness, the thicker and greasier your moisturizer product should be
– Always wear a sunscreen when you spend time outdoor (minimum SPF 15)

How to prevent dry skin:
– Avoid hot showers and go for lukewarm ones instead
– Don’t shower for more than 5-10 minutes at a time
– Apply moisturizing lotion on your body right after the shower
– Moisturize your hands after each washing

How to get a great shave:
– Shave while taking a warm shower or apply a hot, wet towel on your face for a few minute prior to shaving.
– Massage your shaving cream carefully into the skin.
– Avoid shaving too close and use single-edged razors, as they are more effective in preventing skin irritation. Moreover, this will allow you to prevent ingrown hairs that can cause so much trouble.
– Always shave in the direction of your hair growth in order to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs.
– Wash your face thoroughly, with plenty of water. Pat it dry with a towel. Never rub.
– Apply moisturizing cream or lotion immediately after shaving in order to lock the moisture inside and to offer protection to the skin.

How to control acne:
– Always maintain your face clean
– Avoid using facial care products that contain alcohol
– Ask your doctor for prescription retinol treatments.
